Mobile Skatepark 2 Day Event in Pendeen

The Pendeen Primary school playground was once again transformed on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th April with the arrival of a mobile skatepark. Following a presentation by Tribe Enterprises, a large Flatbank with Platform, Quarterpipe with platform, Small Flatbank, Large Driveaway, Fly off, Grind Box, Manual Box and various other obstacles and smaller ramps were constructed!!! . It was a chance for beginners and "Pros" alike to have fun and burn off all that excess energy!

Pendeen Community Project organised the event and it was funded by Sport Action Zone and Sport England.

48 Young People turned up to use the park on Wednesday and 54 on Thursday. All agreed that the facilities were fantastic and the atmosphere great. Ages of skaters and roller - bladers ranged from 3 years to 20 years, they were courteous, patient and allowed each other time to enjoy their sport safely.

The two days were used to share information and also to collect it, young people were given the chance to comment on the need for skate facilities in Pendeen, a survey was taken to find out whether they would be prepared to pay for such a facility and whether they would like to have the chance to take part in future workshops, with nearly all of the young people surveyed thinking that a skate park would be beneficial to the area and the majority of them interested in taking part in workshops in the future.

There was a competition on the second day judged by the guys from tribe, with Max Brooke getting Best Blader, Ziggy Mower, Best Boarder and James Rendell, Best Flips.
