February 2003 Swimming Event

On Wednesday 26th February a group of 30 people from Pendeen went to St. Ives Leisure Centre for a swimming activity afternoon, a coach picked us up from outside Pendeen School at 11.45am and dropped us back at 4pm, there were 19 children and 11 adults. 8 adults swam and two watched. This activity was funded by Sport Action Zone and Sport England.

Working in Partnership

As a follow on from this activity regular swimming lessons were arranged, 10 young people began on Saturday 3rd May and continued for 12 weeks. Five young people continued for further term and gained awards. The ages of the young people range between 5 and 12 years, and they attended St Ives Leisure Centre. Thanks to the Magnet Fund from Sport England these lessons are FREE. Congratulations to all who took part and completed the course. If you would like further details of any other swimming events please contact us at pendeen-project@supanet.com
