ACTIVITY SUMMARY

KITE MAKING
Learn how to make a kite from basic household items. The kites are simple to make, look fantastic and can be flown easily in a moderate wind. This short event can lead to a longer 'Advanced Kites' course.

BASIC BOOK-MAKING
Learn book-making skills and create a basic book to contain notes, photos, a story, recipes or for a gift...the possibilities are endless!

STORY SACKS
Make a story sack for you and your child, or for your local school! A story sack is a material bag, which contains a children's book and various items relating to it, such as soft toy main characters, artifacts relating to the objects found in the story and a game based on the story. These items can help capture the child's interest in reading whilst helping parents to 'bring the book to life'. They help parents to enjoy time spent reading with their child.

POT PAINTING
Try your hand at painting and decorating pots for planting herbs and flowers in.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
Our outdoor activities include courses on gardening, wildlife and nature. You can sow seeds, plan a garden, learn about wildlife, design a nature trail and much more.

MOSAICS
Mosaics are fun and easy to make. You could make a small design for your home or work in a group with others to create a mosaic for a local school or community centre.

HEALTHY EATING
This course suggests simple ideas for meal planning, healthy eating and buying on a budget, as well as festive and seasonal ideas where appropriate, which will help you to enhance your existing knowledge and food preparation and cookery skills. This course can be combined with a gardening theme where home-grown herbs and vegetables could be included in recipes.

FESTIVE AND SEASONAL CRAFTS
Design and make your own cards, gift boxes and decorations for events such as Christmas and Easter.

SCARECROWS
Find out how to design and make a scarecrow - it could be for your own garden, a local field or allotment or a local school. Work as an individual, or as part of a larger group for a bigger scarecrow!

BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS
Learn basic computer skills and practice letter writing, saving files and creating documents on one of our laptops. Can be tailored to suit learners needs.
